Lazy like Monday Morning

Just hanging on the floor with my darlings while they dance to Let it Go and refuse to accept Taylor Swift as a substitute!

Spring Break 2016: Day 6

We left Saint George before lunch on Thursday. The kids spent the morning at the Children’s Museum with Nana and Papa while Mike and I loaded the bags I had packed the previous afternoon. Clara was supposed to be napping while we packed, but unfortunately our incredibly well laid plan was spoiled by a slamming door and missing shoes as the kids left the rental house that morning!

Nora and I waited outside the tabernacle while Mike ran to collect the kids from the museum. These pictures were taken of my sleepy girl while we waited in the sunshine!

Our drive down to visit our wonderful friends Jeremy and Stephanie outside Phoenix was only 6 hours and we made it before dinner that night! No pictures of that first night but the kids had a great time getting to know each other while chasing through the park after dark and avoiding their dinner :) I loved how the girls took to each other so quickly. They were like long lost cousins, which is of course what we hope for when we finally see some of our favorite people again after several years.

From my iphone on the road:

Pears with friends

Nora’s first 6 months were plagued by food sensitivities. At two months we went dairy free due to rashes and sensitive skin. It didn’t really do much so we did a zyto scan which showed that she had some intestinal inflammation. We cut out half the foods common in an average American diet for 6 weeks (over Thanksgiving and much of this Christmas season!)

In early December she was given the all clear for ME to start reintroducing foods. One at a time, three days in between with monitoring. She did great and so at 7 months, at the end of December, we gave her pears to try. I could have started her earlier, but it would have meant more time struggling on my dairy, soy, corn, bean, wheat, banana, avocado and rice free diet!

She now eats squash and pears 1-2 times a day and loves them! And so far we haven’t seen any symptoms of more intestinal issues so we’re counting our blessings that our 6 week break gave her time enough to heal so that she doesn’t have further (or worse!) issues!

Here she is trying pears for the first times. Everyone wanted a turn!

Nora loves all the little people in this house, but she is a total momma’s girl. If she can see or hear me, she isn’t content with a substitute. BUT, sometimes Maddie is able to trick her into a snuggle when she really just wants her momma. She’s my mini me for sure since she got those glasses! untitled-225bw

Lessons on sharing…

I think this series of images tell the story pretty well!!! I’ve uploaded them in the order they were taken.

Finding Little Joys
